PLAYMOBIL X PATTA ACADEMY
(SWSHIIIIII)
For Playmobil’s 50th anniversary, I hand-painted two 150 cm figures. My way of honoring the creativity they’ve inspired in me and so many others, so i did this with full creativity and no sketching beforehand. A tribute to imagination, play, and artistic freedom.
One was auctioned for a great cause with Save the Children in Berlin, while the other now lives in the Playmobil Museum.
Art Direction & Concept – 2024
Brief: Playmobil commissioned artists as part of their 50th anniversary celebration to reimagine the iconic 150 cm figure. The ask: full creative freedom, no restrictions.
Challenge: Working at monumental scale (150 cm) with no sketching, purely freehand. Creating something that felt personal and culturally resonant while fitting within a global brand anniversary campaign.
Approach: Painted two figures entirely freehand, letting the creativity drive the process without pre-planning. The work was a direct tribute to the imagination and play that Playmobil represents filtered through my own visual language.
Result: One figure was auctioned for Save the Children in Berlin. The second now lives permanently in the Playmobil Museum. The project was covered by Highsnobiety, Hypeart and Stupiddope.
